Andes Mountain Range
The Andes Mountain Range is the longest continental mountain range in the world, stretching over 7,000 kilometers (4,300 miles) along the western edge of South America. It passes through seven countries: Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Chile, and Argentina. The range is known for its diverse ecosystems, from tropical rainforests to high-altitude deserts.
The Andes are home to many unique species and indigenous cultures. The mountains also contain some of the highest peaks in the world, including Aconcagua, which stands at 6,961 meters (22,838 feet). The region is significant for its rich mineral resources and is a vital area for agriculture and tourism.
