Anastasian Wall
The Anastasian Wall is an ancient fortification located in Romania, built during the late Roman Empire. It stretches approximately 60 kilometers and was constructed to protect the region from invasions by various tribes. The wall features a series of towers and fortresses, showcasing the engineering skills of the time.
This structure is named after the Byzantine Emperor Anastasius I, who reigned from 491 to 518 AD. The wall served as a defensive barrier, marking the boundary between the Roman territories and the nomadic tribes to the north. Today, it remains an important archaeological site, reflecting the historical significance of the area.
