Amedeo I
Amedeo I was the first king of the unified Kingdom of Italy, reigning from 1861 to 1862. He was born on May 4, 1845, and was a member of the House of Savoy. His reign was short-lived, lasting only about a year, as he faced challenges in consolidating the newly unified nation.
Amedeo I was previously the Duke of Aosta and had military experience, which he hoped to use to strengthen Italy. However, he struggled with political instability and public discontent. He abdicated the throne in 1862 and returned to his previous title, leaving a legacy of a brief but significant reign in Italian history.
