Altneuschul
The Altneuschul, or "Old New Synagogue," is one of the oldest active synagogues in Europe, located in Prague, Czech Republic. Built in the late 13th century, it is a prime example of Gothic architecture and serves as a significant site for the Jewish community. The synagogue's name reflects its historical importance, as it was constructed to replace an older synagogue.
The Altneuschul features a unique interior with a wooden ceiling and beautiful stained glass windows. It is also known for its association with the legendary Golem of Prague, a creature from Jewish folklore believed to have been created by Rabbi Judah Loew to protect the Jewish community.
