Alpha Piscis Austrini
Alpha Piscis Austrini, also known as Fomalhaut, is the brightest star in the constellation Piscis Austrinus. It is located approximately 25 light-years away from Earth and is classified as a main-sequence star of spectral type A3V. Fomalhaut is notable for its distinct blue-white hue and is one of the few stars visible to the naked eye that has a planetary system.
Fomalhaut is surrounded by a prominent debris disk, which is composed of dust and gas, indicating the presence of a planetary system. In 2008, astronomers discovered a planet, designated Fomalhaut b, within this disk, making it one of the first exoplanets imaged directly.
