Alexis of Russia
Alexis of Russia was the Tsar of Russia from 1645 until his death in 1676. He was the second Romanov ruler, succeeding his father, Michael I. Alexis is known for his efforts to modernize Russia and strengthen its central authority, as well as for his attempts to reform the military and government.
During his reign, Alexis faced various challenges, including internal strife and external threats. He dealt with the Cossack uprisings and the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth conflicts. His reign also saw the introduction of the Sobornoye Ulozheniye, a comprehensive legal code that aimed to consolidate power and regulate society.
