Michael I
Michael I was a Byzantine Emperor who ruled from 811 to 813 AD. He came to power after the death of Emperor Nikephoros I and was known for his military campaigns against the Bulgarian Empire. His reign was marked by significant challenges, including internal strife and external threats.
During his rule, Michael I faced a major defeat at the Battle of Pliska in 811, which weakened his position. He eventually lost the throne to Leo V, who led a coup against him. Michael I's reign is often remembered for its military struggles and the political instability of the time.
