Alexios II Angelos
Alexios II Angelos was a Byzantine Emperor who reigned from 1180 to 1183. He was the son of Manuel I Komnenos and became emperor at a young age after his father's death. His reign was marked by political instability and challenges from both internal factions and external threats.
During his short rule, Alexios II faced opposition from powerful nobles, particularly Andronikos Komnenos, who eventually seized power. In 1183, Andronikos overthrew and killed Alexios II, ending his brief and troubled reign. The events of this period contributed to the decline of the Byzantine Empire.
