Alexios II
Alexios II was a Byzantine Emperor who reigned from 1180 to 1183. He was the son of Manuel I Komnenos and became emperor at a young age after his father's death. His reign was marked by political instability and challenges from both internal factions and external threats, particularly from the Seljuk Turks.
During his short rule, Alexios II struggled to maintain control over the empire. His reign ended when he was overthrown in a coup led by Andronikos I Komnenos, a relative who sought power for himself. This marked a significant shift in Byzantine politics and the decline of the Komnenos dynasty.
