Alexander Obrenović
Alexander Obrenović was a Serbian prince and later king, born on August 14, 1876. He became the ruler of Serbia in 1889 when he was just 13 years old, following the abdication of his father, Milan Obrenović. His reign was marked by efforts to modernize Serbia and strengthen its military.
In 1903, Alexander and his wife, Draga Mašin, were assassinated in a coup led by military officers. This event ended the Obrenović dynasty and led to the establishment of the Karađorđević dynasty in Serbia. Alexander's legacy is often viewed through the lens of his tumultuous reign and the political changes that followed his death.
