Alevi Community
The Alevi Community is a religious and cultural group primarily found in Turkey, but also in parts of the Middle East and Europe. They follow a unique interpretation of Islam, emphasizing the teachings of Ali, the cousin and son-in-law of the Prophet Muhammad. The Alevi faith incorporates elements of Sufism and focuses on inner spirituality, community gatherings, and the importance of social justice.
Alevi practices often include rituals such as the cem, a communal gathering for worship and discussion. The community values tolerance, equality, and respect for all beliefs. Despite facing historical challenges and discrimination, the Alevi Community continues to maintain its distinct identity and traditions.
