Aleurites
Aleurites is a genus of flowering plants in the family Euphorbiaceae. These plants are commonly known as candlenut trees and are native to tropical regions, particularly in the Pacific Islands and Southeast Asia. They are characterized by their large, glossy leaves and produce small, yellowish flowers that develop into round, hard seeds.
The seeds of Aleurites are notable for their high oil content and are often used to produce cooking oil or as a source of biofuel. Additionally, the seeds can be burned to create light, which is how the name "candlenut" originated. The wood of the tree is also valued for its durability and is used in various construction applications.
