Al-Mu'tamid
Al-Mu'tamid was a prominent ruler of the Umayyad Caliphate in the 10th century, known for his reign over the region of Al-Andalus, which is present-day Spain and Portugal. He ruled from 1069 to 1085 and was recognized for his patronage of the arts and culture, fostering a vibrant intellectual environment.
His court in Seville became a center for poets, philosophers, and scholars, contributing to the rich cultural heritage of the time. Al-Mu'tamid is also remembered for his military campaigns against the Christian kingdoms in the north, which were significant during the period of the Reconquista.
