Al-Hirah
Al-Hirah was an ancient city located in present-day Iraq, known for its strategic position along trade routes. It served as a cultural and political center during the pre-Islamic period, particularly for the Lakhmids, a prominent Arab tribe. The city was influential in connecting various cultures and facilitating trade between the Arabian Peninsula and the Persian Empire.
The city is also notable for its role in the spread of Christianity in the region. Al-Hirah was home to several churches and attracted scholars and religious leaders. Its significance diminished after the rise of Islam in the 7th century, leading to its eventual decline.
