Age Regression
Age regression is a psychological phenomenon where an individual mentally returns to an earlier stage of development, often adopting behaviors, thoughts, and feelings typical of that age. This can occur naturally during stressful situations or be intentionally induced in therapeutic settings to help individuals process trauma or anxiety.
In some cases, age regression is used in practices like play therapy or inner child work, where individuals explore past experiences to heal emotional wounds. It can also be a part of certain role-playing communities, where participants engage in activities that mimic childhood experiences for comfort or escapism.
