African Franc
The African Franc is a currency used in several African countries, primarily in West and Central Africa. It is divided into two main variants: the West African Franc (XOF) and the Central African Franc (XAF). Both currencies are pegged to the Euro, which helps stabilize their value and facilitate trade among member countries.
The African Franc is managed by two regional central banks: the Central Bank of West African States (BCEAO) for the XOF and the Bank of Central African States (BEAC) for the XAF. These institutions oversee monetary policy and ensure the smooth functioning of the currency in their respective regions.
