Afghan Parliament
The Afghan Parliament is the legislative body of Afghanistan, responsible for making and passing laws. It consists of two chambers: the Wolesi Jirga (House of Representatives) and the Meshrano Jirga (House of Elders). Members of the Wolesi Jirga are elected by the public, while the Meshrano Jirga includes appointed and elected representatives from provincial councils.
The Parliament plays a crucial role in the governance of Afghanistan, overseeing the executive branch and ensuring that laws reflect the needs of the people. It also has the authority to approve the national budget and ratify international treaties, contributing to the country's political stability and development.
