Adverse Experiences
Adverse experiences refer to negative events or situations that can impact an individual's well-being. These experiences can include trauma, abuse, neglect, or significant life stressors. They may lead to emotional, psychological, or physical challenges, affecting a person's overall health and quality of life.
In many cases, adverse experiences are linked to Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), which are specific types of trauma that occur before the age of 18. Research shows that ACEs can have long-lasting effects, increasing the risk of various health issues, including mental health disorders and chronic diseases, later in life.
