Adjustment Disorders
Adjustment Disorders are mental health conditions that occur when an individual struggles to cope with a significant life change or stressor. This could include events like divorce, job loss, or the death of a loved one. Symptoms often include feelings of sadness, anxiety, or difficulty concentrating, which can impact daily functioning.
These disorders typically arise within three months of the triggering event and can last for up to six months after the stressor has ended. Treatment often involves therapy, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, to help individuals develop coping strategies and manage their emotions effectively.
