Acute stress
Acute stress is a short-term response to a specific event or situation that causes immediate anxiety or tension. It can occur in response to challenges such as exams, public speaking, or job interviews. Symptoms may include increased heart rate, rapid breathing, and heightened alertness, which are part of the body's natural fight-or-flight response.
This type of stress typically resolves once the triggering situation is over. While acute stress can be beneficial in motivating individuals to perform well, excessive or frequent episodes may lead to negative effects on mental and physical health if not managed properly.
