Acidizing
Acidizing is a well-stimulation technique used in the oil and gas industry to enhance the flow of hydrocarbons from a reservoir. This process involves injecting a mixture of acids, typically hydrochloric acid, into the wellbore to dissolve limestone, dolomite, or other carbonate formations. By creating channels in the rock, acidizing improves permeability and allows oil or gas to flow more freely.
This method is often employed in hydraulic fracturing operations and can be applied to both new and existing wells. Acidizing helps to increase production rates and improve the overall efficiency of extracting resources from underground formations.
