Acholi
The Acholi are an ethnic group primarily found in northern Uganda and parts of South Sudan. They speak the Acholi language, which is part of the Nilo-Saharan language family. Traditionally, the Acholi people are known for their agricultural practices, cultivating crops such as millet, sorghum, and cassava. They have a rich cultural heritage, including music, dance, and storytelling.
Historically, the Acholi have faced significant challenges, particularly during the Ugandan Civil War and the conflict involving the Lord's Resistance Army. Despite these hardships, the Acholi community has shown resilience and continues to work towards rebuilding their society. Their traditional customs and social structures remain important to their identity.
