Abdullah ibn al-Zubair
Abdullah ibn al-Zubair was a prominent companion of the Prophet Muhammad and the son of Zubair ibn al-Awwam and Asma bint Abu Bakr. Born in 624 CE in Medina, he was known for his bravery and leadership skills. Abdullah played a significant role in the early Islamic community and was involved in various military campaigns.
He became the first Muslim to declare himself a caliph after the death of Yazid ibn Muawiya in 683 CE, establishing his rule in Mecca. His reign was marked by conflict, particularly with the Umayyad dynasty, and he ultimately faced a siege that led to his death in 692 CE.
