ADHD Medications
ADHD medications are primarily used to help manage symptoms of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. These medications can be broadly categorized into stimulants and non-stimulants. Stimulants, such as methylphenidate and amphetamine, are the most commonly prescribed and work by increasing levels of certain neurotransmitters in the brain, which helps improve focus and reduce impulsivity.
Non-stimulant medications, like atomoxetine, are also available and may be preferred for individuals who do not respond well to stimulants or experience undesirable side effects. Both types of medications can be effective, but it is essential for individuals to work closely with their healthcare provider to find the right treatment plan.
