2-3 zone
The "2-3 zone" is a defensive strategy used in basketball where two players guard the perimeter and three players protect the paint. This formation aims to limit the opponent's inside scoring while forcing them to take outside shots. The two perimeter defenders are responsible for contesting three-point attempts and closing out on shooters.
In a 2-3 zone, players must communicate effectively and shift quickly to cover open areas. This defense can be particularly effective against teams that struggle with outside shooting. Coaches often implement this strategy to create a more organized defense and to protect against fast breaks.
