Triangle-and-Two Defense
The Triangle-and-Two Defense is a basketball defensive strategy that combines man-to-man and zone principles. In this setup, three defenders form a triangle around the key area, focusing on protecting the paint and rebounding. Meanwhile, two other defenders are assigned to guard the opposing team's best shooters closely, limiting their scoring opportunities.
This defense is particularly effective against teams with a dominant inside presence and strong perimeter shooters. By creating a triangle, defenders can help each other while still applying pressure on key offensive players. The Triangle-and-Two Defense aims to disrupt the opponent's rhythm and force them into less favorable shots.
