1-3-1 Zone
The 1-3-1 Zone is a basketball defensive strategy that features one player at the front, three players in the middle, and one player at the back. This formation aims to create a strong presence in the key area while also applying pressure on the perimeter. The front player is responsible for guarding the ball handler, while the three middle players work together to defend against passes and drive attempts.
In this zone defense, the back player, often a taller player, protects the basket and rebounds. The 1-3-1 Zone is effective against teams that rely heavily on outside shooting, as it can disrupt passing lanes and force contested shots. However, it can be vulnerable to quick ball movement and skilled shooters.
