보어 전쟁
The 보어 전쟁, also known as the Second Boer War, took place from 1899 to 1902 in southern Africa. It was fought between the British Empire and two Boer republics, the South African Republic and the Orange Free State. The conflict arose from tensions over British expansion and control in the region, particularly due to the discovery of gold and diamonds.
The war was marked by guerrilla warfare tactics employed by the Boers, leading to a protracted and costly conflict for the British. Ultimately, the British emerged victorious, leading to the incorporation of the Boer republics into the British Empire and setting the stage for the eventual formation of the Union of South Africa in 1910.
