選択本願念仏集
《選択本願念仏集》 (Shentaku Hongan Nembutsu Shū) is a foundational text of the Jōdo Shinshū school of Buddhism. Compiled by Shinran in the early 13th century, it emphasizes the importance of the nembutsu, or the recitation of "Namu Amida Butsu," as a means to attain enlightenment and rebirth in the Pure Land.
The text outlines the concept of Amida Buddha and the idea of "other-power," which contrasts with self-powered practices. It serves as a guide for followers, encouraging reliance on Amida's compassion rather than personal efforts for salvation.
