ধান
ধান, or rice, is a staple food for many people around the world, especially in countries like বাংলাদেশ and ভারত. It is grown in flooded fields called paddies and requires warm temperatures and plenty of water. Rice plants can grow up to 1.2 meters tall and produce grains that are harvested when they turn golden brown.
There are many varieties of ধান, each with unique flavors and textures. Some common types include বাসমতি and জিরা rice. After harvesting, the grains are processed to remove the husk, making them ready for cooking. Rice can be prepared in various ways, such as boiling, steaming, or frying.
