Мевлеві, also known as the Mevlevi Order, is a Sufi order founded in the 13th century by the followers of the Persian poet and mystic Jalal ad-Din Muhammad Rumi. The order is famous for its unique practice of whirling as a form of meditation and spiritual connection with the divine. This dance, known as the Sema, symbolizes the soul's journey towards God.
The Mevlevi Order emphasizes love, tolerance, and the pursuit of spiritual enlightenment.
