Sema is a spiritual practice in the Sufi tradition, particularly associated with the Mevlevi Order, founded by the followers of the Persian poet Rumi. It involves a form of whirling dance performed by practitioners known as dervishes. This dance symbolizes the soul's journey towards God and the quest for spiritual enlightenment.
