Σπάρτη
Σπάρτη, known as Sparta in English, was an ancient city-state located in the region of Laconia in the Peloponnese, Greece. It was famous for its military-oriented society and strict social structure. The Spartans were known for their rigorous training and discipline, which produced skilled warriors who played a significant role in various Greek conflicts, including the Peloponnesian War.
The city-state was governed by a dual monarchy, with two kings ruling simultaneously. Sparta also had a unique social system divided into three main classes: the ruling Spartans, the free non-citizen Perioikoi, and the enslaved Helots. This structure contributed to its powerful military and influence in ancient Greece.
