Σβετάμπαρα
Σβετάμπαρα, or Svetambara, is one of the two main sects of Jainism, a religion that originated in ancient India. This sect is characterized by its followers wearing white clothing, symbolizing purity. Svetambaras believe in the teachings of Mahavira, the 24th Tirthankara, and emphasize the importance of non-violence, truth, and asceticism.
The Svetambara sect differs from the other main sect, Digambara, primarily in their views on monastic practices and the role of women. Svetambaras allow women to attain spiritual liberation and believe that both men and women can achieve the same level of enlightenment.
