Μωάμεθ VI
Μωάμεθ VI, also known as Mehmed VI, was the last Sultan of the Ottoman Empire, reigning from 1918 until 1922. He ascended to the throne after the end of World War I, during a time of great turmoil and decline for the empire. His rule was marked by the occupation of Istanbul and the rise of nationalist movements within the empire.
In 1922, following the establishment of the Republic of Turkey led by Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the sultanate was abolished, and Μωάμεθ VI went into exile. He spent the remainder of his life in Italy, where he died in 1926. His reign symbolizes the end of the Ottoman imperial era.
