Mehmed VI
Mehmed VI was the last Sultan of the Ottoman Empire, ruling from 1918 until 1922. He ascended to the throne after the death of his half-brother, Mehmed V. His reign was marked by the aftermath of World War I and the empire's eventual dissolution.
In 1922, following the establishment of the Republic of Turkey under Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, Mehmed VI was deposed and went into exile. He spent the remainder of his life in Italy, where he died in 1926. His rule symbolizes the end of centuries of Ottoman imperial rule.
