Εΐντ αλ-Φιτρ
Εΐντ αλ-Φιτρ is an important Islamic holiday that marks the end of Ramadan, the holy month of fasting. It is celebrated on the first day of Shawwal, the month that follows Ramadan in the Islamic lunar calendar. The holiday is a time for Muslims to come together with family and friends, share meals, and give thanks for the strength and patience shown during the month of fasting.
On this day, Muslims perform a special prayer called the Eid prayer in congregation, often in large open areas or mosques. It is also customary to give Zakat al-Fitr, a form of charity, to help those in need, ensuring that everyone can partake in the celebrations.
