Żydowska Organizacja Bojowa
The Żydowska Organizacja Bojowa (Jewish Combat Organization, or ZOB) was a Jewish resistance group formed in 1942 in the Warsaw Ghetto during World War II. Its primary goal was to fight against the Nazi regime and protect the Jewish community from deportation to extermination camps. The ZOB organized armed resistance and coordinated efforts to resist the German forces during the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising in April 1943.
The ZOB was composed of various Jewish political factions, including members of the Bund and Zionist groups. Despite being heavily outnumbered and outgunned, the organization played a crucial role in the uprising, symbolizing Jewish resistance against oppression. The ZOB's actions have become a significant part of Jewish history and memory.
