Øresund
The Øresund is a strait that separates Denmark and Sweden. It connects the Baltic Sea to the North Sea and is approximately 16 kilometers (10 miles) wide at its narrowest point. The strait is an important shipping route and plays a significant role in regional trade and transportation.
The Øresund is also known for the Øresund Bridge, which links the cities of Copenhagen in Denmark and Malmö in Sweden. This combined road and rail bridge, opened in 2000, facilitates easy travel between the two countries, enhancing economic and cultural exchanges.
