Öresund Strait
The Öresund Strait is a narrow body of water that separates Denmark and Sweden. It connects the Baltic Sea to the North Sea and is approximately 16 kilometers (10 miles) long at its narrowest point. The strait is an important shipping route and plays a significant role in regional trade and transportation.
The Öresund Strait is also known for the iconic Öresund Bridge, which links the two countries. This bridge-tunnel structure, completed in 2000, facilitates both road and rail traffic, enhancing connectivity between Copenhagen and Malmö. The strait is rich in marine life and is a popular area for recreational activities.
