tear drainage system
The tear drainage system is a network that helps remove excess tears from the eyes. When we blink, tears spread across the surface of the eye, keeping it moist and clear. After this, the tears drain through small openings called puncta located at the inner corners of the eyelids.
From the puncta, tears travel through tiny tubes known as canaliculi into the lacrimal sac. From there, they flow down the nasolacrimal duct into the nasal cavity. This process prevents tears from overflowing and helps maintain proper eye moisture.
