supercharger
A supercharger is a device that increases the power output of an internal combustion engine by forcing more air into the combustion chamber. This process allows the engine to burn more fuel, resulting in greater horsepower and torque. Superchargers are commonly used in performance vehicles to enhance acceleration and overall speed.
There are two main types of superchargers: positive displacement and centrifugal. Positive displacement superchargers, like the Roots type, provide immediate power boost at low RPMs, while centrifugal superchargers, such as the Whipple type, deliver power more efficiently at higher RPMs. Both types improve engine performance significantly.
