stepping reflex
The stepping reflex is a natural movement observed in newborns, typically appearing within the first few weeks of life. When a baby is held upright with their feet touching a flat surface, they will instinctively make stepping motions, as if trying to walk. This reflex is a part of the baby's development and indicates their nervous system is functioning properly.
This reflex usually fades by around two months of age as the baby grows and gains more control over their movements. It is often studied in relation to other reflexes, such as the grasp reflex and the rooting reflex, which also demonstrate the innate abilities of infants.
