steel production
Steel production is the process of creating steel from raw materials, primarily iron ore, coal, and limestone. The most common method is the blast furnace process, where iron ore is heated with coke (a form of coal) to produce molten iron. This molten iron is then refined to remove impurities and alloyed with other elements to create different types of steel.
Another method of steel production is the electric arc furnace (EAF) process, which uses recycled steel scrap as the primary raw material. In this method, electric arcs generate heat to melt the scrap, allowing for the production of high-quality steel with lower energy consumption and reduced environmental impact compared to traditional methods.
