post-war Kosovo
Post-war Kosovo refers to the period following the 1998-1999 conflict between Serbia and Kosovo Albanians, which led to significant political and social changes. After the war, Kosovo was placed under the administration of the United Nations and later declared independence from Serbia in 2008. This declaration has been recognized by over 100 countries, although Serbia and some other nations still do not recognize Kosovo's sovereignty.
The post-war era has seen efforts to rebuild the economy and establish democratic institutions. International organizations, including the European Union and NATO, have been involved in peacekeeping and development initiatives. Despite progress, Kosovo continues to face challenges such as political instability, economic development, and ethnic tensions, particularly between Albanians and Serbs.
