manatee
The manatee, often called a "sea cow," is a large, gentle marine mammal found in warm coastal waters and rivers. They belong to the order Sirenia and are herbivorous, primarily feeding on seagrasses and aquatic plants. Manatees can grow up to 13 feet long and weigh as much as 1,300 pounds.
These animals are known for their slow-moving nature and friendly disposition. Manatees have a streamlined body and paddle-like flippers, which help them navigate through water. They are often seen in groups, and their populations are protected due to threats from habitat loss and boat collisions.
