Dugong
The dugong is a large marine mammal that belongs to the order Sirenia, which also includes manatees. Dugongs are herbivorous and primarily feed on seagrass, making them important for maintaining healthy underwater ecosystems. They are often found in warm coastal waters of the Indian and western Pacific Oceans.
Dugongs have a streamlined body, fluked tail, and paddle-like flippers, which help them navigate through their aquatic environment. They can grow up to 3 meters long and weigh around 400 kilograms. Unfortunately, dugongs are classified as vulnerable due to habitat loss, hunting, and entanglement in fishing gear.
