lacrimal canals
Lacrimal canals are small tubes located in the inner corners of the eyes. They play a crucial role in draining tears from the surface of the eye into the nasal cavity. Each eye has two lacrimal canals, one for the upper eyelid and one for the lower eyelid, which collect excess tears produced by the lacrimal glands.
When we blink, tears are spread across the eye's surface, and any excess tears flow into these canals. From there, the tears travel through the nasolacrimal duct and eventually empty into the nasal cavity, helping to keep the eyes moist and clear.
