internally displaced persons (IDPs)
Internally displaced persons (IDPs) are individuals who have been forced to flee their homes due to conflict, violence, human rights violations, or natural disasters but remain within their country's borders. Unlike refugees, who cross international borders to seek safety, IDPs are still under the protection of their own government.
IDPs often face significant challenges, including lack of access to basic services such as food, shelter, and healthcare. They may live in temporary camps or with host families, and their situation can be precarious, as they may not receive the same level of assistance or protection as refugees.
