immunodeficiency disorders
Immunodeficiency disorders are conditions where the immune system is weakened or not functioning properly, making it difficult for the body to fight off infections. These disorders can be either primary, caused by genetic factors, or secondary, resulting from external factors like infections or medications.
People with immunodeficiency disorders may experience frequent infections, delayed recovery, and complications from illnesses that a healthy immune system would typically manage. Common examples include HIV/AIDS, which is a secondary immunodeficiency, and severe combined immunodeficiency (SCID), a primary immunodeficiency that affects infants.
